Effective January 6, 2023 – The IDFPR Division of Professional Regulation Design Unit announced the approval of the revised Title 68 Illinois Administrative Code 1270 rules, which affect the Minimum Standards of Practice for Illinois Land Surveyors.
The new rules include revisions to “Boundary Surveys”, “Subdivision Surveys”, “Topographic Surveys” (expanded to include “Topographic Maps”) and “Writing Parcel Descriptions” standards. In addition, a new section, 1270.59 “Certificate of Correction” was added, which allows the original surveyor of a record document the ability to correct errors or omissions to their original document.
